Professional Profile: QA Software Test Analyst / Test Engineer

About Me

I am an ISTQB and ISEB-accredited I.T. test engineer, drawing on over 15 years of experience as a test analyst, quality assurance consultant and test team leader.  In addition to this I also have experience as a website designer, software engineer, customer coordinator and technical author.  This experience has been applied to military, commercial and local government projects.  I apply an innovative and diligently thorough approach to all tasks or problems.

I am looking to expand my existing role as a test analyst and test team leader.  I am flexible and willing to learn new skills as appropriate for current and future projects, with the aim of teaching others via good example.  I hold a full, clean driving license and a British passport.

• Tools include Jira, TestLink, SoapUI, VMware, iMacros, DOORS, configuration/issue-management systems.

Development skills:

• Experience using multiple languages (bespoke applications, web systems, RAD prototyping, Groovy/Java).
• Tools used include MS Windows, Linux, MS Office/VBA, MS Visual Studio, Eclipse, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle.

Additional skills:

• Strong customer relationship skills, customer account management and customer training/support tasks.  
• I have the self-discipline to work from home, and have experience as a technical author.
• The ability to balance commercial realities against academic ideals.

Location

I am based in Tintern (by Chepstow in the Wye Valley), with easy commuting access to the following areas: Bristol, Newport, Cardiff, Bath, Chippenham and Gloucester.

Travel further afield is possible, but would have to be negotiated as part of any contract.
